L’Esule va a Lucca Comics 2011 – “L’Esule” goes to Lucca Comics 2011

Along the journey in search of new inspiration, and new issues to deal with, “the Exiles” will stop in Lucca at the famous festival of the comic strip “Lucca Comics & Games”. In fact, for the duration of the event (Friday, October 28 to Tuesday, November 1) the association “L’Esule” will be present at the stand Passaglia (Self Area) seats 39 and 40.

But things first: what is “Lucca Comics & Games”?

The name, familiar to most people, would not need study, but, in fairness, it is necessary to say a few words to describe this event to those who still do not know: Lucca Comics and Games is by far the most important  comics and gaming event  in Italy. Many - among comics fans - dream on it, and see it as a promised land, while other – lovers of contemporary visual arts – have received their “imprint” from this show. In fact, every year in late October / early November, the quiet old town of the Tuscany changes its face and wears the mask of a city festival, magic. The visitor finds himself thrust into a world where comic books, animation and video games are the masters and whose streets are populated by the famous “cosplayers” (fans of comics, movies and games that take on the appearance of their favorite characters). Even from this brief description of the event we can understand why the association “L’Esule” intends to be present in a stand for the duration of the fair!

In our headquarters in Lucca Comics, visitors can buy the magazine self-produced (same name) of the association as well as illustrations, posters, t-shirts and other merchandise bearing the name ”L’Esule”. In addition, those who choose to visit us will be able to exchange a few words with the authors of the stories in the first issue of our publication. Often, the mentality and personality of a cartoonist shines through his drawings. But a dialogue, a direct exchange of words can surely provide the reader with more detailed information along with the keys to better interpret the messages contained within the short stories of “L’Esule”, allowing us to reach a deeper level of understanding of the issues addressed in the pages of the magazine. Furthermore (and this applies to most of the visual arts) to know the author and the contextin which some work was undoubtedly made to promote the understanding, and often helps to overcome the mere consideration of visual quality, making grab ”philosophy “behind the work itself.

Lucca Comics & Games is therefore the ideal setting to implement one of the main tenets: the expressive growth of all its members! And, since greek agora, dialogue and exchange of ideas are the best ways to ”level up”! It ’also the ideal platform to move from small to a global audience.
In short, to say the Italian comic world: ”We are here!”.
